audio interface is a device which allows the connection of external
audio sources or devices to a computer or other recording device. It is used to capture, convert, and
output digital
audio signals from a variety of sources, such as microphones, musical instruments, CD players, and other
audio hardware. An
audio interface typically consists of an
audio input, an
audio output, and/or a
midi interface.
